About Me
I moved to the Kansas City area in late 2004 and started fishing the Missouri River for catfish soon after. I believe that was in March of 2005 and by May I had my first boat.
I have fished the river from Atchison, KS to the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers at Alton, IL, and many places in between. I mainly fish the stretch between Kansas City and Lexington, MO.
Most of the summer you'll find me on the river almost every Friday and Saturday night. Generally I fish from dusk til dawn when I go out. I find I sleep better in the boat than at home and believe me, the sound of a screaming bait clicker is much better to wake up to than an alarm clock.
I have two young sons who enjoy fishing and hanging out on the river with me and most of the time they are fishing with me.
During the winter when I'm not fishing I'm generally working on the boat, whether it needs it or not. I'm a project manager now but I spent a large part of my career after the Marine Corps in industrial construction. Some guys play golf or work on the yard to relax. I cut, weld, and make things out of metal or tear down and work on motors.
I decided this winter that since I'm almost always either fishing or working on something related to fishing I might as well turn my hobby into a side business. As you can tell by my rates I'm not looking to get rich, just to help support my fishing habit.
