Original fish mount: MooseKat's Cusk (aka Burbot)

The first fish we've had mounted, we went all out to mount an unusual fish that is equally unusual in terms of it's size. This cusk (burbot) was 35.5" long and weighed over 11 lbs.! For a cusk, the fish fought well. While many anglers have low regard for these fish, they are terrific eating and make for some excellent fishing memories. While relatively easy to catch, enduring the conditions required to ice these fish is a testament to the tenacity of any hardy angler. This mount looks great and was done by Jeanette Clukey at High Country Taxidermy in Ripley, Maine. Thanks, Jeanette!
